6.25x9.25" hardcover ©1919 P.F. Volland Co. 130 deckle edge pages include ten full page illustrations by noted cartoonist Frank King. Third inside blank page has nice 2.75x4" fountain pen inscription at top "To K.C.B. Maliciously Yours J.P. McEvoy". McEvoy is also recognized for creating the flapper character Dixie Dugan in two novels which led to the Oct. 1929 Dixie Dugan comic strip written by McEvoy and illustrated by John H. Striebel. Frank King began the Gasoline Alley comic strip in 1918. Cover has lt. dust soil with lt. bumps at corner tips, page with signature has 5.25" diagonal crease in blank area at bottom right. Overall covers Fine, inside pages VF/Exc. Nice combination of two early comic strip pioneers. Comes with Hake's COA.
