Auction #202 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1553 in auction 202
Item Description
There is a pro-McKinley version of this all in brass luster and without the number "16" on the eagle's back. This, however, is the Democratic version Hake #Bryan 305. Made of brass 1-5/8" tall beautifully designed as an eagle viewed from above as if flying. The exterior is all in brass luster. A tiny tab on the back allows the eagle's wings to open and they should portray paper photos of Bryan and Sewell, but these are missing. The underside of the eagle's wings and most of its back are all in bright silver luster. The number "16" is on the eagle's back and there is a number "1" on the back of the tiny gold bug held in the eagle's beak. Mechanical aspects work perfectly. Replacement photos could be added for display purposes in desired. Significantly rarer than the Republican version and with value of $664 in Hake's 2004 Revised Prices, but that assumes the presence of original photos.
