Issue contains 29-page story "Armageddon-2419A.D." by Philip Francis Nowlan which is the very first Buck Rogers story ever published and also represents the origin of space/superhero characters. Story includes five illustrations by noted pulp artist Frank R. Paul. First page of story has editorial text including "We Prophesy That This Story Will Become More Valuable As The Years Go By. It Certainly Holds A Number Of Interesting Prophecies, Of Which, No Doubt, Many Will Come True. This Story Has Impressed Us So Favorably, That We Hope The Author May Be Induced To Write A Sequel To It Soon." Issue also includes H.G. Wells story "The Moth." Covers have some dust soil, especially noticeable on back cover, spine has .25" seam splits and back cover is missing .25" piece at left. Staples are a bit rusty and back cover has moisture marks around edges. Covers are VG/Fine. Insides are lightly but evenly tanned, though not brittle. Issue contains 38-page story titled "The Air Lords Of Han" by Philip Francis Nowlan and is the second and final Buck Rogers pulp appearance, as well as his first cover appearance. Cover shows Buck as Anthony Rogers being startled by a metal sphere flying into the room where he is being held captive by villains. Art is by Paul who also did a full page illustration for the Buck Rogers story. Contents also include "The Worm" story by David Keller. Spine has .5" piece off bottom, 4.5" spine split has been repaired on inside with 1" strip of cellophane tape. Top spine has 1" piece of cellophane tape around outside. Back cover has lt. dust soil with 1" diagonal crease at lower left. Overall covers Fine, insides VF. Both are historical publications.
