Item Description
This item is made like a typical 1.25" celluloid button. The front has jugate portraits of Bryan and Stevenson beneath the name of the advertiser "Henry Deutsch" with text below "Popular Price Tailor, Indianapolis, Ind." The piece is turned over to reveal a glossy silvered metal back with a small edge tab so the tin cover can be lifted on its hinge revealing the opening which is lined with a paper label including the W&H trademark plus larger text reading "Suits/From $15.00 Up./Trousers From $3 00 Up./Henry Deutsch/The Popular Price Tailor,/Indianapolis, Ind." While the size of the interior compartment is small it would be ideal for carrying stamps or pills. Interior paper label has a thin grayish circular line but this quite minor and the rest of the piece is N. Mint displaying Mint. The design of this piece is very similar to Hake #58 a standard button but with Hebrew inscription and on that their photos are slightly larger. This is the only example we've seen of this piece and the only Bryan jugate we know of functioning as a container.
