1948 version ©News Syndicate Co. Inc. 3.75x6.75x.75" deep die-cut thin cardboard box has nice lid graphics of Annie and Sandy signed by creator Harold Gray. Graphics are repeated on die-cut insert. Earlier versions were marked “Lic. by Paul R. Gruen Inc.”. This 1948 watch cost $6.95 and comes with “New Haven” price tag and slip. Lid corner tips have tiny bit of wear, otherwise box and insert are VF. .75x1" rectangular watch case with silver luster has full figure art image of Annie with her right arm pointing to 11 o’clock and her left arm pointing to 3 o’clock. Art is signed at lower right by creator Harold Gray. Has original leather band. Crystal is yellowed. Dial has surface wear visible upon close inspection but case retains full luster. Appears to be unused old store stock. Exc. and running. From the Jerry Howell Jr. Collection.
