Item Description
First item is 3x4" ink filled-in 1904 members card for Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Minor dust but VF. (2) 3-1/8" tall brass luster white metal badge with cello "Delegate" insert at top and lower cello insert for "BT of R 5th Biennial Convention Milwaukee 1901." Made by W&H and Extremely Fine with just a small area of tan tone on lower right of bottom cello. (3) 1.25" button in brass rope frame reading "B. of L.E./50th Anniversary Division No. 75/March - 8 1916." Mint with three accent ribbons. (4) Rare 1.25" button held in embossed brass frame tabbed to the reverse and including an American flag ribbon which has moderate tan stain. The cello is completely clean and reads "100% American Railroad Men/Went On Vacation For A Living Wage/4-9-20/N-Y-Harbor." Button relates to April, 1920 strike which began in Chicago and spread to Cleveland and other cities effecting the rail lines of the New York Central, Baltimore & Ohio, Pennsylvania Railroad and others. (5) Incredibly detailed multicolored 11/16" enamel on brass lapel stud with rim reading "American Federation of Railroad Workers." Very tiny text reads "One R.R./One Org." Tiny images of rail lines and building along with very tiny organization date from 1901. Exc. (6) 13/16" litho button "American Federation of Railroad Workers Aug. 1929." VF. (7) 7/8" cello with initials for the union "B of LF & E" with additional text "75 Thousand Members By 1936." Exc.
