Item Description
8x11" horizontal format 16 page comic c.1940s published by Bendix Aviation Corp. Front cover has full-color art of pilot on airfield with title “In Action With The Invisible Crew”. Contents include forward page attributed to him plus 13 full comic strip panel stories based on war adventures. These pages were also printed in various Sunday newspaper comic sections. Final page has another large blue-tone portrait illustration of him as aviator. Nice art appears to be drawn by noted comic book artist Bob Powell. Comic has vertical curl through center with some lt. aging and bit of wear across top cover. Good. 3.75x5.5" cloth pouch with metal snap fastener on front has text “U.S.” with 1942 date on reverse made by Huff Mfg. Co. original mailing envelope from United Profit Sharing for pouch torn and wrinkled, pouch itself is N.Mint. Nice WW II pair. See WW II related items #2931 from the Joe Gura Premium Collection.
