Item Description
1.25" Australian made button has hairline 1" cello split on the reverse but cello lays perfectly flat and causes no problem although showing a little tan stain but this is totally confined to the reverse and the front displays essentially Mint. A tiny mark by the letter "W" of the words "Speed Winner" was dirt speck now removed. He is shown in uniform and with image of his plane below all above his name "C.W.A. Scott." Earlier he broke three solo England-Austria flight records in 1931 and 1932 and this button commemorates his flight from London to Melbourne in a de Havilland DH.88 Comet. Rare and first we've seen.
