Item Description
Golden Age Timely Comics sure gave the reader a lot for their dime. This book gives you forty pages of Human Torch and a back up story of twenty pages with the Sub-Mariner. Alex Schomburg wraps the book in another one of his highly detailed- explosive covers. As the Human Torch breaks into the foundry, Toro stands half-caked in what appears to be melted iron. His encrusted hands are reaching out to the Torch in a way that almost looks pleading. The details that Schomburg provides the background are amazing. He has even placed a window off to the right. They yellow coming through that window seems to balance out the heat of the Torch on the other side. The Sub-Mariner is seen in a window on the bottom right side. It is a classic pose for him as he stops a speeding torpedo with his brute strength. The interior features art by Burgos. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-certified 9.0. (VF/NM). According to the CGC census this copy is tied with one other as the highest graded copy they have seen.
