Item Description
With the war over, Timely heroes moved into fighting regular crime. Often the situations didn’t seem as dramatic, but this one sure does. Syd Shores creates the impression that The Human Torch and Toro are actually relaxing at a play, but even there, they cannot avoid crime. Shore’s skill with composition was extraordinary. The cover, like the work of Schomburg five years earlier, looks of its time. (Please check out Shores’ cover work on issues of the Blonde Phantom elsewhere in this auction). The pages are off-white. The book is CGC-certified 9.0. (VF/NM). According to the CGC census, this is the highest graded copy they have seen.
