Item Description
14.25x20" first printing poster for Aug. 19-20, 1966 concerts at the Avalon Ballroom featuring Grateful Dead and Sopwith Camel. Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, this was their first poster for the Grateful Dead and as such, the spelling error of "Greatful" is present on this poster. Great design includes Frankenstein portrait at center. Bottom margin has "The Bindweed Press" notation. Poster was once tacked-up and exhibits corner wear with some staple holes and paper pulls/small bits of paper missing. This would easily mat out and otherwise poster has a bright and clean appearance. Overall VG with the corner defects but would display Exc. if matted. A must have for Dead collectors.
