Item Description
3.5" size cello button made by Elwar Limited. c. 1965. ©Universal Pictures Inc. on rim curl. This first version features an image which clearly represents Bela Lugosi's portrayal of Count Dracula. This version saw extremely limited distribution due to a trademark infringement claim made by Lugosi's son. The design was ultimately changed, featuring the more common design showing an altered face, two hands instead of one, Dracula with white bow tie instead of red medallion and differing "Dracula" font. Also, the Lugosi version sports bloody fangs whereas final version sports clean fangs. Minor surface wear on metal back. Front has a few tiny air dots under the cello but bright and glossy. VF. For reference only we show the altered version to the right of the button we are offering.
