Item Description
Two items. 5.5x8" soft cover script book has 112 pages for "A Row-Peterson Play" ©1940. Author is Robert St. Clair. Storyline has man inheriting mansion on Black Island within sight of a penitentiary. When domestic servant learns her position is insecure she plots with a servant to make the heir sick so he will not be able to live a year on the island and inherit the property. The servant wants to prove that the vampire bat is no myth and strange disappearances happen in the dark. The bat does make an appearance but in the end, the forces of evil are overcome and the heir gets the estate with no strings attached. Covers are worn with some dust soil and front cover has deaccessioned ink stamp from University of Colorado. Spine has strip of tape at top and bottom and spine title is pulling loose. Inside back cover has library pocket glued in place over text and "Date Due" paper on left inside page glued at top in blank area. Good. Folded slick paper poster opens to 12x18" with large art image at top of vampire bat flying with full moon and house in bkg. Bottom portion is blank for theater name but has small ink stamp with text "Posters-Paper, Like This Sample, Ten For Fifty Cents Post Paid" with imprint for Row, Peterson & Co Evanston, Illinois. Color rubs along fold lines. VG+ appearance. Wonderful graphics and great piece to frame.
