Auction #183 - Part II
Item numbers 1292-2528 in auction 183
Item Description
The playful cover features a worried Johnny Thunder being chased by his Thunderbolt as the rest of the JSA looks on. Drawn by E. E. Hibbard, every character featured on the cover is active inside the issue. The splash page features a proclamation that declares the Flash as an honorary member. It is signed by the current active members. DC would later reference this proclamation when Green Arrow joins the Justice League of America in issue #4 of that title. The Silver Age JLA book will continue to reference that same proclamation every time they add a new member. This issue of All-Star also features a text page story about a new DC hero, Dr. Mid-Nite. It is written by Charles Reizenstein, who is also the character’s original scripter. The final interior page contains an announcement that features the JSA telling readers that the book is now moving to a bi-monthly status. Also in this issue, other JSA members are briefly seen in the individual Spectre and Sandman chapters. Among the artists in this issue are Bernard Baily, Sheldon Moldoff, and Irwin Hasen. The pages are white. The book is CGC-certified 8.0 (VF).
