Item Description
The cover ranks among the five best DC ever published. It perfectly captures the excitement and the promise of a comic book. There is no crazy monster, no word balloons with unbelievable hyperbole, no alien menace from another galaxy, there are just heroes smiling and ready for action. The Seven Soldiers of Victory, also known as the Law’s Legionnaires, were comprised of eight characters that can only be described as second stringers in the DC Universe. For many, that lowered status is the key to their appeal. For others, the appeal lies in the fact that the Seven Soldiers worked as a team and they would occasionally become frustrated with each other. There was humanity to the way they were portrayed. The cover features Green Arrow and Speedy, The Shining Knight, The Vigilante, the Crimson Avenger, and the Star Spangled Kid. The team also included the Star Spangled Kid’s sidekick Stripesy and the Crimson Avenger’s sidekick, Wing. This issue also contains the origin story of the team. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-certified 8.0 (VF).
