c. late 1930s by Allied Mfg. Co., Chicago. 1x1.5x2-7/8" wide box w/colorful art of boy and girl watching comic strip characters on film and art w/Shadow, Moon Mullins, Dick Tracy and Orphan Annie and Herbie, Emmy, Tracy Jr. and Kayo on back panel. End flaps list 13 titles available in series. Box has lt. loss of color around edges, lt. dust soiling, still displays Fine. Viewer is 2.75" wide and 1.5" tall molded plastic/tin litho w/comic strip characters paper labels on both sides. Front has Smitty, Orphan Annie, Kayo, Dick Tracy and back has Uncle Willie, Skeezix, Harold Teen and Tiny Tim. Viewer uses 16mm film and contains bw Shirley Temple film but this title is not listed in series and sprockets are loose. A few wrinkles/color rubs around top of Harold Teen image o/w VF w/bright color. Comes w/two boxed films, each box is 2" long. First box is titled "Film Funnies' New Release" w/graphics of Annie walking w/Sandy, Kayoand Daniel Boone. ©1933. Box is worn around edges with a few color rubs. VG. Contains filmstrip of "Chicago World's Fair" rather than Dick Tracy as desigated. Second box is titled "Extra Film For Komic Kamera". ©1934. Box has art of Dick Tracy, Annie w/Sandy and Kayo. Trace of lt. wear, o/w Near Exc. Contains proper "Dick Tracy" film as designated. Both films are 16mm, but viewer is made for 8mm films.
