Item Description
c. 1970s. 14-7/8x20" art board has wonderful 14.5" tall India ink and watercolor painting of Captain America standing full figure with early version of shield and right hand reaching out. Art is signed in ink at lower right "Joe Simon". Board has a few moisture marks around sides, mostly in blank areas. Lower left of image area near right foot has a few tiny moisture dots but image will mat and frame to near Exc. appearance. Extremely well-done example by Simon who created Captain America with Jack Kirby for the character's first appearance in "Captain America Comic" #1 March 1941.
