c. 1970s. 18x19.75" illustration board has wonderful India ink, watercolor, and tempera original art of Sick magazine mascot character Huckleberry Fink sadly waving good-bye to viewer from coffin in graveyard as eager vulture watches. Casket is full of life's necessities including food, vitamins, gasoline and different colored rolls of toilet paper. Lower left has image of Fink's tombstone and lower right has shovel lying in dirt. Background has various tombstones. Art board has some dust soil and corner tips have lt. bumps. Blank area at top of painting has a few lt. moisture marks and upper left corner has faint 1" diagonally crease. Problems are not major and painting will mat and frame to near Exc. appearance. Sick magazine was created by comic book writer-artist Joe Simon who also edited the title until the late 1960s and did numerous covers into the early 1970s. Painting is exceptionally well done with lots of detail and is signed at lower right.
