Item Description
First is 3-3/8x5.5" photo of Edward clipped off at top showing him tipping his hat with spectators in bkg. Reverse side has ink note "Visit To Heymouth 1923". Light dust soil. Fine. Pair of real photo postcards are each 3.5x5.5" showing him as King in formal attire including one with him smoking cigar. One is #20 and one is #49 and both are postally unused and VF+. Fourth item is 7-5/8x9.5" glossy news service photo showing him smoking cigarette with friends during his infamous 1936 cruise aboard the chartered yacht "Nahlin". Caption on back notes that he is with "Mrs. Ernest Simpson, The Former Miss Wallis Warfield Of Baltimore. The Simpsons Frequently Entertained The King At Their London Residence." Photo is lightly curled and has a few handling creases most noticeable across top margin edge. VG. Image area remains strong and Fine. Photos show historic progression toward his 1936 abdication when he caused a constitutional crisis by proposing marriage to Mrs. Simpson while she was still married. Historical.
