Item Description
Six cabinet photos range in size from 8.5x10.75" to 12x14" overall. Bar scene interior photo is dated 1906 on reverse, other photos range from early 1900s to the 1930s. Bar photo shows attendant with well stocked bar looking out sunlit doorway for customers. Next photo shows schoolboys posing outside building for photo with teachers and Cuban flag behind them. Next photo shows employees of Havana Gas and Electric company outside plant, and next show large facade of "Jose Seisdedos" building. Next photo shows delegation of people at airport with Pan Am plane in bkg. and "Pan American Airways Inc. Habana" ink stamp on reverse. Last photo shows president of Cuba leaving palace with Cuban flag at top. Photos are VG/Fine. Soft cover souvenir book is 10.5x13" "Havana Post Tourist Edition" with 84 pages including tri-fold fold-out. Front cover has postcard images and most photos inside appear to be postcard themed, although four pages feature full color tobacco labels. Book is c. 1912. Covers have some dust soil and lt. creasing. Overall covers VG, inside Fine/VF. Felt pennant is 9x24" with design of Cuban flag. c. 1920s-1930s. Made in Cuba by Casa Vassallo. Some lt. dust soil with a few moisture marks at left side front and back most noticeable at single star. VG/Fine. Interesting group of early Cuban items. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
