Auction #203 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1428 in auction 203
Item Description
5/8". Ferrotype portrait of beardless Lincoln in a raised decorated circle surrounded by rim carrying the inscription with an accent of three stars below. On the extreme right side are three tiny gouge marks which removed three dots of emulsion and result in three tiny silvery metal dots. The rest of the emulsion is essentially Mint and while slightly dark the image details remain extremely clear and sharp on close inspection. On the other side the Hamlin image is again dark with a single tiny emulsion dot off upper extreme right edge. Details remain clear when reviewed closely. Mint luster on the rim.
