Item Description
The book contains the very first appearance of the Swamp Thing. Cover artist Bernie Wrightson has slyly placed him in the background of the cover. He seems to almost be lost in the shadows as he is coming through the doors on the left side. The menacing look of the Swamp Thing is balanced by the look of complete innocence that Wrightson gives to the young girl who dominates the cover. Her pale complexion and blonde hair may initially seem to be the focus of the cover, however it is the way she is looking over her shoulder that pulls the reader in the direction of the real terror behind her. The book also features interior art by Wrightson, Weiss, and DeZungia. Len Wein and Virgil North contribute to the writing. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-certified 9.0. (VF/NM).
