Item Description
Few issues have as much comic history as this one does. The cover is timeless. It might even be more recognizable than the cover to Action Comics #1. For many, this issue was their introduction to the character. There is a new, two- page origin story of Superman, plus four pages that did not appear in Action. The back cover of the book features a full-page pin-up of Superman. While there was a character pin-up of Buck Rogers on the inside cover of New Funnies #38, Sept. 37, many historians consider this pin-up of Superman to be the first official pin-up in the history of comics. The cover is also the splash page to Action #10. The title was quarterly for the first five issues. This issue contains classic work by the creators of Superman. The story is by Jerry Siegel and the art is by Joe Shuster, who also provides the striking cover. The pages are light tan to off-white. The book is CGC-certified 4.5 (VG+). CGC lists the restoration as apparent, moderate, and professionally done. Restoration includes; color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cleaning, reinforced, and having the staples cleaned.
