Item Description
From same set at item #1277. Card front features head shot with text "Base Ball C57 Portuondo." Distinctive black border around the image which remains strong and clear. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA. Bartolo Portuondo aka Portuando was an infielder who played from 1916 to 1927. He spent most of his career with the Cuban Stars East (1916, 1923-27) but also played for several other teams including the Cuban Stars West (1917-18), All Nations Team (1919), and the Kansas City Monarchs (1920-22).
