Item Description
This most unusual piece is probably from the 1890s. It is a 2" dia. piece of wood perfectly flat on the reverse and with a 1-3/8" stickpin extending from the middle downward. The front of the piece is very convex in dark brown with glossy varnished surface and featuring a large ornate gold logo at the center showing the union logo surrounded by the words "Amalgamated Wood Workers International Union of America." At the very center additional bold words read "Union Made." At the very center of the piece is a small 1/8" silver colored dot which appears to be the result of the decal emblem losing a tiny surface flake. All else is in Exc. condition. A rare labor item and the earliest wood button we've seen.
