Item Description
9.5x12" sheet of animation paper with image area of 4x6.5" and done in lead pencil. From 1929, just the third Silly Symphony short and directed by Ub Iwerks who we believe did this very drawing as well. Drawing #56 featuring Frog on a lily pad who bears a strong resemblance to Flip, the character that Ub went on to create after he left Disney in 1930. This short was the first of four using the seasons as the basis of each storyline- Summer, Autumn and Winter followed later in 1929 and 1930. Obvious margin wear and sheet has lt. aging, VG but art itself remains Exc. Fantastic image. Early and very historic.
