Item Description
This 1.25" button has a backpaper used by the maker W&H only from 1900-1912. It's quite likely this button does date from around 1901, the year the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs was established. The button is beautifully designed down to red and blue stitching on the seams. The top shows the "Reach Trade Mark." Bottom of the button reads "A.J. Reach Co./Sole Makers/Philadelphia." Center of the button is boldly printed "Official American League Ball." This button is much more frequently seen in a smaller 7/8" size. Condition of this example is NM, displaying Mint. Morry Greener Collection.
