Item Description
1.5x2.5x7/8" thick celluloid over metal. Front panel has photo of the team with their manager at center and with two young boys in uniform seated in the foreground along with a large trophy, catcher's mitt and ball and a pair of bats. The side panel of the match box holder is blank but the reverse panel displays three chain links symbolic of the Odd Fellows fraternal group with text reading "Commercial Lodge No.165/I.O.O.F. 1922 Base Ball Championship/Celebration/October 12th, 1922." Superb NM condition. Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
