Auction #203 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1428 in auction 203
Item Description
Item consists of ornate embossed brass frame 1-3/8" in dia. which holds at its center a 1" cello of Dewey. The frame is mounted to a pale blue ribbon with four segments at the top and a pair of 3" long streamers below which carry the inscription. A small bit of the gold accenting is off the tip of each streamer but otherwise the piece is clean except for a .25" slightly darker circle next to the "Y" of "Dewey" and this has a tiny 1/8" split. Dewey was a presidential hopeful in 1900 but for the Republican Party. Likely this item is from 1898 from a Democratic organization celebrating his historic victory. Only example we've seen.
