Item Description
This very rare piece was used by U.S. forces occupying Japan. The piece is 1-1/8" dia. in silver luster metal. The reverse has a silver metal tube through which is inserted a brass bar pin. Front of the piece has MacArthur's portrait facing right with tiny inscription of artist's initials on left background. Text below is "General MacArthur Cup Competition Medal." Reverse of the piece has outer text reading "Second Competition/1948 At Tokyo." Beneath the tube holding the pin is the three line inscription "Lawn Tennis/Soft Ball Tennis/Table Tennis." Trivial tarnish. NM and first we've seen.
