Auction #203 - Part II
Item numbers 1429 through 3205 in auction 203
Item Description
1.5x6x1" deep mailing box contains complete two-piece premium 4.5" long. Issued by Peter Pan peanut butter, 1947. Paper tape used to seal the box is missing from the underside of the bottom panel with a few scattered brown glue marks but none of this shows on the other sides of the box which is extremely clean. The tin scope is in yellow with design including Sky King portrait along with his "Private Code." The left end has .75" wide band of luminous material covering most of which still glows in the dark after light exposure. Opposite end of the tube has a metal reflector attachment that swivels and is used to send signals. There is a small inserted brass whistle with a plastic magnifying lens on the one end. This has Mint luster. The paper instruction sheet is 5.5x10". This had a coupon cut from the bottom to order an additional premium but otherwise totally clean condition although with a 2" archival tape repair on the blank reverse of the paper remaining at the lower left corner where the coupon was cut out. The sheet otherwise just has the fold lines necessary to package it with the premium. Only our second boxed example and our first with the instruction sheet.
