Item Description
This large poster is 40x53" and has been linen mounted. This is not to be confused with the much smaller and more common 12x21" poster utilizing this same "Fallout Shelter" motif. That smaller poster was done for The Who's Nov. 20, 1973 concert presented by Bill Graham and held at the Cow Palace, San Francisco. This large poster was done for the entire 1973 North American Tour which consisted of 12 dates beginning with the Cow Palace show and ending Dec. 6th in Largo, MD at the Capital Centre. The Who took their new album "Quadrophenia" on the road in what turned out to be one of the most frustrating tours of their career. Features big and bold fallout shelter symbol w/tour text below as well as smaller text promoting the MCA "Quadrophenia" release on records and tapes. Printed on thin glossy stock and due to its large size and fragile nature, few examples have survived. It is estimated that only about 200 were actually printed, of which a few dozen remain. Poster had scattered handling wear and a few small margin tears, all taken care of as linen mounted. Also has scattered black color touch-ups all which blend. Appearance remains totally bright, clean and glossy. Fine but displays Exc.
