Item Description
3.5x5.75" semi-glossy card has nice photo of three member band in suits c. 1958. Lead singer Buddy Holly has signed in black ballpoint pen and Jerry Allison and Joe Mauldin have each signed in blue ballpoint pen. Bottom of card front has printed text "The Crickets Exclusive Coral Recording Artists" along with copyright designation. Card has tiny nick through letter "D" of "Buddy" name, upper right corner tip has bit of lt. dust soil and slight color rub in .5" area. Card is still affixed to a leaf from an autograph album. Fine overall with bold signatures. Buddy Holly (1936-1959) had huge hits over the last few years of his life including That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, and True Love Ways. He was a major influence on musicians including the Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton. Holly was killed in a plane crash along with fellow rock and roll pioneers Richie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson. That tragedy lead to Don Mclean's hit single in 1972 "American Pie" which included the lyrics "The Day The Music Died". A wonderful piece of music history which would be great for display. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
