Item Description
Each is approx. 2.25x4" and both are c. 1860s-1870s. Ada Gray made her first appearance on the stage in 1863 when she was 15 years old, playing Juliet to John Wilkes Booth's Romeo. Her card has slight trim at bottom edge. Signed in fountain pen ink at bottom. Comes with Hake's COA. Fine. Patti photo was taken in Paris during the 1867 Universal Exposition and has most text in French along with ink stamp on reverse "This Print Loaned By Calvert Service New York For Your Use Only". Slight fade but a rare and extremely young photo in VF condition. Patti (1843-1919) first sang in public as a child in 1851 and gave her last performance before an audience in 1914. She was a highly acclaimed opera singer and earned huge fees during her career in Europe and America.
