Item Description
Pair of small 2.5x3.75" glossy photos from 1948 campaign train stop in York, Pa. Both have writing, ink stamps, and cellophane border tape on reverse from use in local newspaper. In one young girl presents flowers to Truman. One corner crease. Clean. The other shows him speaking and he signed this in black ink years later to York reporter: "To Harry McLauglin/Kind Regards/Harry S. Truman/33-8-65." He used the number "33" because he was the 33rd president and possibly also because he was a 33 degree mason. Some tiny areas where ink skipped a bit due to the gloss surface but overall everything is dark and easily readable. From the Harry McLaughlin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
