Item Description
2x7.25" overall. Top celluloid hanger has "D M Co" initials intertwined. Suspended from top is celluloid shield shape with ornate brass border showing illustration of "Dahl-Millican Grocery Company" building. Behind the shield is a rwb ribbon with bright gold luster letters reading "To Buffalo,/Niagara Falls,/Pan-American/Exposition/July 15, 1901/4th Annual Outing/Of The/Dahl-Millican/Grocery Co./Of Washington C.H./Ohio." (Washington Court House). At the bottom of the ribbon is a two sided 1.75" dia. celluloid disc. Front side has illustration of Buffalo with text "En Route To/(Buffalo) 1901/And Over." The back side shows an illustration with text "The Suspension Bridge/Niagara Falls." Interesting to note that in 1901 this was their fourth annual outing from this small Ohio community. By 1906 this company was involved in litigation that took them to the Supreme Court in Washington concerning unpaid debt and bankrupcy. Tiny trace of age to ribbon. Celluloid areas Exc. Rare. Only example known to us and Fred Lavin, author of "Panorama of the Pan-Am" reference book. VF.
