Item Description
1.25" Photo button of legendary pitcher of Negro Leagues finally accepted for major league play by Cleveland Indians at age somewhere past 40 years in 1948. He continued as Cleveland pitcher for two years followed by three more as a pitcher for former St. Louis Browns. He was inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame in 1971. Cello has about six vertical scratches, three rather deep, but all showing only in reflected light. A scarce and historic button that displays Mint under most lighting conditions. From the Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
