Item Description
12.5x20" with text at top "Happiness Is Tommy Steele!" along with image of happy Steele for event held for "Ten Weeks Only April 7 To June 19" at London's Adelphi Theatre. The show also featured The Young Generation and Susan Maughan. A few lt. handling creases here and there with a few tiny tears at blank top and bottom margin edges. Overall Fine. Steele is regarded as Britain's first teen idol and rock and roll star. He was discovered by freelance photographer John Kennedy who thought Steele might be Britain's answer to Elvis Presley. He gained fame as the front man of the Steelmen when their first single "Rock With The Caveman" reached #13 in 1956 on the UK singles chart. His version of "Singing The Blues" reached #1 on January 11, 1957 and his 1957 album "The Tommy Steele Story" was the first by a British band to reach #1 in that country. He began acting in stage and film musicals and still performs today. Poster is nicely designed and great for display.
