Item Description
Four Items. 1950s. Each is thin cardboard with segmented accordion-like body designed to have string attached to a pair of die-cut holes at top of head which is used to bounce the figure up and down as if he/she is dancing. Little Orphan Annie original art prototype is 23.5" tall in India ink and watercolor holding a green ball with left hand waving. Trace of lt. dust soil, otherwise Exc. Next is two smaller original art 7" tall figures of Denny Dimwit (from Winnie Winkle) and Herby (Smitty's younger brother) both have slt.aging and small tack holes in hats but are Exc. These premium's were never produced and are one of a kind. Last item is 9.5x15.5" “Fanny Brice As Baby Snooks” actual premium figure. Front has nice art image, reverse has ad for NBC radio program and sponsor Tums along with instructions. ©1950 Lewis-Howe Co. Left arm has hairline crease and reverse side has some lt. dust soil at top. Fine. Wonderful set for display with superb graphics on both. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
