Auction #204 - Part II
Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
14x17" superb high quality wood frame has double archival mat with two openings. First opening is 2.75x7.75" holding check dated February 23, 1965 filled out in ballpoint pen and signed "Brace Beemer". Top opening is 4.5x6.5" with nice vintage photo of Brace Beemer in costume as the Lone Ranger with Silver. Check has barely noticeable vertical fold through center and has a few cancellation holes running through signature though clearly legible. Display is otherwise Exc. Check is dated just one week prior to Beemer's death on March 1 and is made out to his insurance company in the amount of $194.00. Beemer was an American radio actor and announcer at Detroit radio station WXYZ, he became the Lone Ranger announcer soon after its first broadcast in 1933 and also appeared as the Lone Ranger in public because station owner George Trendle felt that Earle Graser didn't look the part. Beemer was the voice of the Lone Ranger from 1941 to the last episode in Sept. 1954. He also portrayed St. Preston of the Yukon on the radio for a brief time after the Lone Ranger series ended. Simply superb and ready for display. Comes with Hake's COA.
