Auction #204 - Part II
Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
2.5" tall beautifully die-cut and embossed thick brass badge with vertical reverse pin. Item was used by Shrine members with the initials of their formal organization name appearing as part of the description. At top a jester displays a banner quoted in our title. Below a pair of standing elephants wearing fez hats hold a circular drum-like center which has burst design surrounding a Shriner on a camel. Text around this edge reads "Of Mecca Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. April 5th 1905." At bottom is pair of crossed sabers, five point star and crescent moon inscribed "Mecca." Some loss of silvering from the outer edges but otherwise piece is essentially Mint as made. Wonderful design. Only example we've seen.
