Item Description
See Ferdinand Horvath Big Bad Wolf color art # 2218 and Sea Monster art w/Mickey Mouse #2205. Tight lead pencil art for first panel of page which appeared in May, 1934 issue. 9 3/8x12" sheet has 7.5x8.25" image area at top with delightful scene of Red Riding Hood walking down lane past Three Pigs house with Fifer and Fiddler Pig happily looking at her as very alarmed Practical Pig points in direction she is going while holding a trowel. Background has his brick house under construction with items including bag of “Wolf Proof Cement”. Sheet has horizontal crease just below center of image area with an additional horizontal crease below bottom of image area. Margins have lt. aging, a couple tan dots on top left margin and blank corner tips have pinholes. Image area itself displays Exc. Art is attributed to Tom Wood and was done for the second Disney Good Housekeeping age ever published. The series ran monthly until 1944. A superb and delightful image based on a classic Silly Symphony cartoon.
