Item Description
See Ferdinand Horvath Sea Monster art with bio #2205. Art is for Silly Symphony cartoon released February 24, 1939 directed by Dick Rickard. 9.5x12" sheet of animation paper has second sheet measuring 5x8.5" glued in center as done by artist. Wonderful image done in lead and colored pencil with some white paint accent color has wolf dressed as mermaid on moss-covered rock in water getting ready to blow a kiss at mostly submerged Fiddler and Fifer pigs. Art is signed “Horvath” in lead pencil at lower right. Margins of image area have gray show through to .5" depth from glue on reverse. A superior example of Horvath’s work which is seldom found signed.
