Item Description
Pair issued in the 1930s. Each book is 7.25x9.25" with complete and mounted set of 1.5x2.25" paper stamps w/choice color images. Vol. 1 has 24 pages w/100 stamps and Vol. 2 has 12 pages w/50 stamps. Nice cover art, pages feature additional movie-related illustrations and bio text on the stars. Stamps were issued w/various Nestle products and books include advertising. Books were printed in England. Stamps feature a who's who of movie stars including: Garbo, Colbert, Dietrich, Cagney, Grant, Gable, Laurel & Hardy, Temple, Crawford, Chaplin, Harlow, Field, Pickford, Hepburn, Flynn, Lombard, and many more. Both covers have moderate aging. Each has center four pages loose from staples. Pages lightly aged but clean. Albums VG/Fine. Stamps clean and overall Exc. to NM as mounted. Also comes with 9x11" two-sided promotional sheet for Vol. 2 and includes cover image and related text plus order form. Crease as folded and tanned w/age. VG. Nice complement to the sets.
