Item Description
Two bound volumes of 9.75x13-1/8” magazines published monthly, each with die-cut covers. Magazines deal with high fashion, interior design with essays by literary or other influential cultural persons of the era. Each issue is 85-150 pages. Illustrated with drawings, color/bw photos and various advertisements. Issues included are Volume One Feb.-July, 1950. Volume Two Aug.-Jan. 1950-51. Third book is 1953 Annual with 1952 copyright. Issues feature pull-out small booklets, art inserts, many also include fold-outs, die-cuts, etc. Annual has six page feature on Salvador Dali. Hardcover volumes have lt. shelf/handling wear, overall with VF/Exc. contents. These are a must have for aficionados of design in general. From content to printing techniques the content was truly ahead of its time. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
