Item Description
First sheet is personal stationery with tiny text at upper left in relief "Gene Carr Red Bank New Jersey". Image area is 3x6" overall with detailed graphics of pretty showgirl signed "Gene Carr 1911" at bottom. Second sheet is 3-3/8x5.25" with 2.75x5" image area of young boy winking with his dog sitting nearby. Autographed at upper right "Compliments Of Gene Carr 1916". First sheet has been glued to stiff paper sheet and has lt. horizontal crease through center with bit of tanning on blank sides, likely due to improper framing. Image area itself is bright and Fine, second original is Exc. Carr is best known as the creator of the "Lady Bountiful" comic strip which first appeared in 1902 and ran until 1929. She also appeared in Carr's other strips including "Winsome Willie" and the "Step Brothers". Nice examples by a talented cartoonist.
