Item Description
4-7/8x6-7/8" matte finish photo shows Masterson in full uniform wearing glasses having just pitched ball with stadium in bkg. including large sign "Ted Lyons Day Sept. 15th." Reverse side has Masterson's name in ink at top with ink stamp E. F. Collins photographer name at lower right. Exc. Masterson had his Major League debut with the Senators in 1939 and his last Major League appearance with the Detroit Tigers in 1956 with a win-loss career record of 78-100 including 815 strikeouts. Ted Lyons played 21 Major League seasons with the Chicago White Sox as a starting pitcher between 1923 and 1946 with a win-loss record of 260-230. He has the second highest career ERA of any Hall of Fame pitcher. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
