Item Description
7x9" glossy with image of HOF'ers Enos Slaughter, and Johnny Mize as well as Pepper Martin in uniforms which includes Baseball Centennial patch on sleeves. Reverse side has Acme photo credit ink stamp along with printed paper caption dated August 21, 1939 which includes text "Three St. Louis Cardinals Used Their Fingers To Do Some Figuring At Ebbets Field, Brooklyn, August 21, But They Must Have Figured Wrongly, For The Brooklyn Dodgers Broke The 7-Game Cardinal Winning Streak By Downing The St. Louis Birds 7-1." Lower right corner has additional ink stamp date of Aug. 23, 1939. Very early image of Slaughter, who was just in his second MLB season during 1939. A few minor handling creases just visible in reflected light. Overall bright, clean and VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
