Item Description
2-7/8x5.5" one-sided card c.1935 with photo of Twardzik on baseball field in uniform holding ball in glove is sub-titled "Miss Twardzik, 18 Year Old Webster, Mass., High School Girl." Card has lt. dust soil. Fine. Twardzik was the first American girl to play varsity baseball on a high school team. She played 1934-35 for Bartlett High School. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
