Item Description
9.75x14.25" stiff art paper has 9.5x13.75" India ink image area. Scene shows 14 mascots celebrating including Licey tiger, lion, elephant, and eagle with two men nearby discussing scene in Spanish. Dialogue translates to "What! Why Celebrate?" with other man answering "They Are Happy Trujillo Will Make Them A $25,000,000 Stadium." Art is signed and dated at lower right "Octavio 26/8/52." Lt. handling wear. Unique and Fine. Cuba brought problems to the Caribbean with a ten year war (1868-1878) and many Cubans fled the country and migrated to the Dominican Republic. The Licey Tigers were one of the first teams formed in 1907 and they still play today. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
